The most unique creations will stand a chance to be turned into real cuddly soft toys and be sold at IKEA stores all over the world.

The soft toy collection called SAGOSKATT is part of the IKEA Let’s play campaign to help support children’s right to play and develop. So, get your colouring pencils out and join the competition!

Soft Toy Drawing Competition

It’s time for the annual IKEA soft toy drawing competition. This year we will give six children the chance to turn their favourite imaginary creatures into real cuddly soft toys. Mark the dates and spread the word!

Six international winners will be selected based on the uniqueness and commercial potential. Real toys will be created and launched as limited collection in November 2020 in IKEA stores around the world.

About the competition

What will your child get by participating?

All participants

will receive a certificate of participation.

60 drawings

will be shortlisted by the IKEA Malaysia stores for online public voting.

15 Malaysia's winners

will be chosen by the public and they will
receive a RM150 IKEA gift card, plus their drawings will be submitted to IKEA Global for international selection.

6 International level winners

will receive one soft toy each, created by IKEA from their own drawings.

  • What time does the drawing competition takes place?

    Your child may participate in the competition any time during the IKEA store opening hours.

  • Can my child submit their drawing online?

    No, to ensure fairness, drawings must be drawn and submitted at the IKEA store.

  • If I am an IKEA FAMILY member and the child is not related to me (i.e a friend’s child), can he/she still participate in the competition?

    Yes, he/she may still participate.

  • What is the judging criteria for the competition?

    Winners are selected based on the following: Creativity, Originality and Feasibility of drawings to make it into a toy.

  • How will I know if my child’s drawing is selected as a top 60 finalists?

    By 22 November, the top 60 finalists will be informed via email should their drawing be shortlisted.

  • When is the voting period?

    25 November, 9am to 1 December 2019, 23:50pm.

  • How do I vote?

    All voting will be done online, on this same page.

  • Can I vote more than once?

    Unfortunately, you can only vote once per device.

  • How will I know if my child’s drawing is selected as the top
    15 Malaysia's winners?

    15 Malaysia's winners will be selected from the top 60 finalists and they will be informed via email by 10 December.

  • How will I know if my child’s drawing is selected as one of the 6 international winners?

    By 31 December 2019, the 6 international winners will be informed via email.
